The Google Mobile App has undergone a lot of changes since the initial launch. Many of these changes just seem t be related to little tweaks here and there, except for one: Voice Search. The newest feature to the Google Mobile App has essentially created a whole new reason for people to use the Google Mobile App to for multiple tasks.
The basic functions of this app are still the same, so while our older review of this app may not be one of our greatest, we?re going to focus on the Voice Search aspect added in this most recent update. The addition of Voice Search to this app has been a hot topic as of late and now that it?s finally out, it?s easy to understand why. Adding voice based search to this app is honestly enough to merit using this app over defaulting to Safari when searching for something.
To use the Voice Search, simply put the phone up to your ear and speak. If you?ve seen the video demo that Google has included on the app itself and that has been all over the web for quite some time, you?ll notice that in a rather fast voice, the demonstrator says ?Pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset.?. Try it out, it actually works. As long as the word you?re looking for isn?t something obscure (AppVee would not recognize to save my life), you?re pretty much going to find it. Once it enters in the search term you spoke, you can actually press the lens icon to pick exactly where you want to search that term.
This one feature has significantly improved how useful this app is. If you look at the app as an overall package, it?s mostly just a links page with a really detailed search feature. While it may share some similarities with simply using Safari, this app has proved itself with the newest addition to its line-up: Voice Search.
