SUMMARY: Addictive harbor management at its best

Harbor Master is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch where you take on the roll of the Harbor Master and are in charge of all the traffic coming and going within the harbor. Using your finger you must direct the incoming ships to an available dock. Despite this simple concept, this game is extremely fun and very addictive.

The graphics are top notch and the game feels slick overall. While the concept is not original, it takes the gameplay that has come before it and adds enough to it to make it the best game of it's kind. Not only do you direct the paths of the ships into the busy harbor, but must also dock the ships, wait for their cargo to unload and then navigate them back out all while trying to not collide into other ships within the harbor. With three different ships each with their own docking time and speed, the gameplay gets frantic pretty quick.

Harbor Master includes three different levels for players to take control over and each contains it's own unique challenges. For example, on Cyclone Island you must avoid the spinning cyclones that will throw off your ships course and on Sturgeon Creek different colored ships must match the dock of their color. For those of you that really like time management games, this is the level for you.

Not only is the gameplay polished but so are the menus. From the simple 3 step instruction page to the in depth online leader boards everything is well designed.

Another great feature of this game are the way the sound effects and music work together. The music is catchy to the point that you will be whistling or humming along with by the end of your game. And the sound effects of selecting ships and directing them to docks fit in with the music perfectly.

All in all, Harbor Master is a game that's easy to pick up and play but hard to put down. And with it's low price I definitely recommend it.
