Harry Potter took the world by storm when the books first came out and the movie arguably held there own as well. Each new release of from the series is an instant hit and this is partially because of the exploration of the fantasy world it creates. It's viewers love watching wizards and spells come to life on the screen. The Harry Potter Spells app is taking that intrigue and turning it into a game that gives players the chance to cast their own spells and duel against others. The game will start you as a new student at Hogwarts.
This means going through the sorting hat and choosing your wand.
Once you have your house, you can then begin to learn different spells and practice them. The real fun begins when you decide to either play through the single player on three different levels of difficulty or hook up with a friend via wifi or bluetooth.
Overall, the spells were pretty hard to nail every time and took a lot of redos to make the actual spell work. The controls are very intuitive, but the phone has a hard time reading the motions sometimes which can make for a very frustrating game experience. The game is priced in the medium range and it really is a toss up when it comes down to whether or not to buy it. The replay value is pretty low and there aren't too many features, but it could be fun if you had a friend to play it with.
