Heli Rescue is another line drawing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game offers a similar experience to games like Flight Control and Harbour Master where you must draws different paths for vehicles to follow in order to solve objectives. In this particular case, the objective is to rescue a bunch of citizens who are mysteriously getting lost in the same area. To do this, you draw a path to the person in need of rescue and then draw a path to the respective helipad that they must be delivered to. It may seem easy at first, but any familiar with the genre knows that it is nothing short of complicated once you get into the thick of things.
There are 3 different helicopters each with there own speed, fuel efficiency, and occupancy levels.
The player's job is to micro-manage their paths to reach as many survivors as they can without crashing. The game is fun, but it is not without it's issues. The main issue that I had a problem with was that the survivors were slightly hard to see when under stress. There would be times when I just didn't notice where the cry for help was coming from and that made for a very frustrating time as I was forced to stop and look around for way longer than I should have.
But other than that, this game plays pretty much how you would expect it to. I'm not personally a fan of these type of games, but for a cheap price, it is a worthy addition if you enjoy this genre. Check it out.
