Hexile is a puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod Touch with a steampunk feel to it. When you first see this game you may write it off like we did, but surprisingly it?s addicting enough that you?ll find yourself going back to it.
On the first level, you?ll look at the puzzle and grasp what you need to do almost instantly. You need to go from stone to stone in an ascending or descending order. That doesn?t mean you have to pick a direction and go that way only, after each stone you press, you can go up or down depending on what stones you have left, but remember, you can?t skip stones. So if you have 3,4,5 and press 4 then 3, it?s game over.
Once you get a few levels into the game you?ll start to realize just how difficult it becomes. There?s a timer ticking away to remind you just how long you?ve got left before you lose your bonus and of course some powerups to help you along.
To use these powerups, you?ll need to hold them down in the left hand side of the screen and tap the stone you want to affect at the same time.
To gain more powerups, simply tap on them as you see them within the puzzle.
Hexile is definitely worth picking up and will be a game you find yourself playing for quite some time. You can save your progress and come back to it at any point. You also have over 600 playable levels to play through. Even if you played through them all, this game still has a lot of replay value. If you enjoy puzzle games, definitely check out Hexile.
