Hook Champ is a platformer game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The idea behind this game is to get through a level collecting coins using your trusty grappling hook. You are an explorer looking through different caves trying to find gold and fortune. But there is an evil power that is in these caves. The gameplay of this app is absolutely amazing. There are very few games that I have played that flow as smoothly as this game did. Using the grapple hook definitely felt just like flying through cities like spiderman attaching and swinging to my heart's content. The graphics of the game have a classic old school feel and sounds that makes the game feel retro and familiar.

Throughout the game, collected coins can be spent on different upgrades to your grapple hook, rope, and many other tools to help you reach your goal. The game progressively gets harder but never loses the arcade feel that it initially has in the first levels.

Overall, Hook Champ is a shining example of good gameplay brought to a device plagued with poorly designed games. If you are looking for a fun game that just plays right, check out Hook Champ. There is a free version in the app store so grab that first if you still aren't sure. But the game definitely has my vote with the developers promising new content for the full version.
