House Hunter is a utility app that helps, well, house hunters keep track of the houses that they?ve checked out. Since this is a niche market, especially right now, then many of you will gain nothing out of the app. For those of you who are looking to buy or rent a home, then read further, and see if House Hunter is worth your two bucks.
Initially, I couldn?t find anything with the app that was all that special. It seemed like a glorified notepad. You could keep track of the exact same information by picking up a flyer from any house you go to, and just writing a number on the back. Not only that, but you have to manually enter all the information again, so in theory, it?s not a time saver, it?s a time waster. But then I realized that there is a giant market for this kind of thing.
Both of my moms simply love a fun little project, and this app turns it into a fun little game for people like that. ?Look honey, I can enter in the address and look, it?s on a map! Isn?t that neat?? Yes, super neat, but it?s just Google Maps. I guess I?m having trouble writing a review for this because I?m not that type of person. I like this apps interface, I like that you can customize it to fit your needs from the ground up, I like what it?s trying to do, but you can accomplish the same thing with a pen and a manila folder.
The reason I gave it the stars I did is because I really like what the developers are going for. Home shopping is scientifically proven to be one of the most stressful things a human being can do, and a one-stop shop application on the iPhone would be a godsend. Unfortunately without multiple listing service integration, or some sort of database of agent information, it hardly seems like the realtor replacer that it seemingly wants to be. If you just want an on hand breakdown of all the houses you?ve seen, and you?re scared of papercuts, then get House Hunters. But if you?re technically literate enough to visit an application review site, then you?ll realize that you?re not getting anything new or special.
