HydroTilt XL is a unique platformer for the iPhone and iPod Touch. In this game, you are a water droplet whose goal is to retrieve the ice cube and reach the finish line.

From the main menu, tapping the "Start Game" option will take you to the map selection screen. From here you can view all of the levels you have played on, the fastest time you have completed the level, or if you collected the crystal on that level or not. Tapping "play" next to the map preview will begin the game. At the start of each map, a brief "flying camera" introduction is shown. It will show where the ice cube is, where the finish point is, where you spawn, and a general overview of the map. After this, you will be given some tips on how to play the game.

Controlling the droplet is achieved by tilting your device in the direction you would like for it to move. If you are a water droplet, you will find that you will move slower, whereas if you are an ice cube, you will find that you move faster. Double Tapping the screen will give a large overview of the map in case you can't figure out where to go. The objective of each map is to reach the finish line with the ice-cube in the shortest amount of time possible.

What is perhaps the most amazing aspect of this game is the ability to download or create your own maps. Tapping the "Custom Levels" option on the main screen is where you can create custom levels, play the custom levels, or download other user generated maps. The level editor is a robust map editing interface that will allow you to create anything you desire. If you are like me, and cannot create a decent map, you can also download other people's map packs with the "Get Levels" option.

This game is simply beautiful; from the main screen to the level editor, this app is gorgeous. The levels can be simple or complex, and are a blast to play on with the easy to learn controls. The music is a very nice, calming, companion to this game. The best part of this game is the downloadable content and the open level editor. If you finish all of the default maps, there are countless other maps for you to download and play with. And even if you somehow manage to play every single map available to download, you can create your own maps with the level editor. $5 will buy you this amazing game, and in my opinion, it will be worth every penny.
