Ice Age was a great movie when it was first released. It had witty humor, funny graphics, and that stupid squirrel who just couldn't get that acorn in his mouth. After a couple sequels, Ice Age has finally gotten its own mobile game in the form of a puzzle platformer. The game follow Scrat the saber-toothed squirrel as he journeys throughout the crazy jungle world collecting the acorns that are mysteriously laying around. Really, if you think about it, what are acorns doing laying around on ice and in the middle of a tropical jungle? Ok, back to the review.
The game plays much like Toki Tori. The player needs to tap on the screen where they want Scrat to go and he will move to that point.
Eventually you must move obstacles and stack objects in order to collect the various acorns laying around. All of the characters that can be found in Ice Age play a role in this game, but the focus of the game is definitely on Scrat. The graphics of the game look pretty good but have that simple, slow animation that sometimes has you tapping your foot waiting for the squirrel to get to his destination.
Overall, the game is pretty decent. It is not anything that I was too crazy about and because of that I think the price is slightly too high currently. If you aren't sure about this one, download the Toki Tori Free app. It has very similar gameplay and would give you a pretty good picture of what Ice Age will be like.
