iFax gives users the ability to fax a document from there iPhone without the need for setting up an account or anything. Just fax the document. After putting in the fax information, users can take photos and include them as well as type up a document to be sent.
The app claims to allow users to send "UNLIMITED faxes for FREE" but in all reality, they only allow 1 fax to be sent to the same fax number every six hours. The large downfall that I immediately saw with this app was that it can't send PDF or DOC files... if you are trying to fax over a form of some sort, it's not possible through this app. So ultimately it ends up being more of a dead end than a useful app. This makes sense anyways since the whole idea of faxing is slowly on the way out anyways.
Business users may appreciate the convenience of this app, but only being able to send one every six hours to a number just ruins it for me. For the price that the company is asking for this app, it may be worth it to pass on this app. There are internet services that will send faxes for free with attachments allowed and there is always the trusty email.
But if you are in a pinch and need to specifically fax an SOS, this app will cut it for you. For most of you out there, stick with a more modern medium and pass on this app. It just does not have enough features to make it a convenient app for everyday use.
