iGolf brings the driving range directly to your iPhone. This easy to use app lets you hold your iPhone like a golf club and really give it a swing. From there you can watch just how far your ball goes and enter in your username to keep track of your score.
From the second you load this app up, you'll get the impression that they really wanted to go with the whole Nintendo Wii feel. The instruction colors are the new Nintendo blue and white, which may be passing too much judgment, but so be it. The instructions lay out all of the details of the game that you'll need to know. Pick a club.
Press a button. Swing the iPhone.
Now, any game that requires you to swing an iPhone like a piece of sporting equipment is kind of scary. That's an expensive piece of technology you've got in your hand and it doesn't have a wrist strap. When you do swing it, sometimes it will catch on the back swing.
The game seems to be built a little bit too realistic for the fact that it can't be considering accurate. You're not going to get a good reading on your swing quality or anything like that considering you don't have to line it up nor is there any golf club like weight to the iPhone. Overall, it is fun and would be something that any golfer would probably enjoy at least for the times when they just can't go play golf and their kids are hogging the Wii.
