There are word games and then there is Imangi. This app is the most challenging and enjoyable word game to hit the iPhone and iPod Touch. The developers couldn?t have put it better when they described it as a cross between Scrabble and Rubik?s Cube.

Before you even get to playing the game, you?ll have to select which mode you want to play. There?s standard, speed, daily challenge, and friend challenge. Not to mention you can also view the high scores online or play this game in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Russian. Pick whichever version you?d like to play and get crackin!

The basic gist of the game is that you?re given a six squares wide by eight square tall mess of letters. Some of these letters are red, indicating that they are bonus letters. If you use all of them when you finish the round you?ll get bonus points. The object of the game is to make as many words as possible by tapping on the letters adjacent to one another. You can?t go diagonally, but considering the fact that you can rotate the rows and columns to make new words, it shouldn?t be an issue.

Imangi is very challenging, especially considering that every time you move a row or column you could easily break the work you?ve just done. It takes quite a bit of skill to be able to handle the time challenge in this game, let alone get a high score on standard mode.
