As the iPad continues to sell like hotcakes, developers are continuing to dream up new ways it can improve our lives no matter what we do. The most recent app to catch my attention is the predictably named iMockups.
This app is attempting to improve on many methods used by developers in the web or on mobile devices to create concepts. Instead of having to tote around a pad of paper or constantly draw up new mockups for clients or yourself, iMockups provides the tools in one easy app. The iPad proves to be an amazing host for the app as you are able to pull different shapes and modules from the sidebar and customize them to throw together a mockup extremely quickly. If you have a client who just needs to see a concept in your pitch, this app makes it extremely easy.
In fact, it is simple enough to where I would feel comfortable letting a client build what they see in their head. While this app isn’t perfect and can sometimes be a hassle to do advanced prototyping, it truly excels at creating simple, basic mockups. It’s the best I’ve seen in the app store and because of that it will set you back a bit. But definitely check it out.
