We've seen so many different instant messaging clients since the launch of the iPhone that it's actually rather difficult to be anything but judgmental when a new one comes along. IMPlus is yet another multiplatform instant messaging app that is trying to be your app of choice, but unfortunately it falls very far from that even being remotely possible.
You can load up your accounts for AOL, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk, Jabber, ICQ, and Myspace very easily through setup page. There aren't a lot of settings options for you to mess around with, which is something you'll get use to with this app. You can have more than one service loaded at a time, but unfortunately it doesn't see like this app was really built for that.
Besides not adding it's own functionality like Palringo, this app also doesn't separate your contacts at all. That means that right under your AIM contacts, you'll have your Google Talk contacts with no barrier what so ever. This can be very frustrating to navigate through as it seems that they aren't even in alphabetical order by alias. Nor do they have their buddy groups!
IMPlus use to be a great program for the computer that everyone with regular AIM envied. That was almost a decade ago now. With this iPhone version, the only thing that people will be doing if this is your chat client of choice is pitying you. Avoid this at all costs.
