InvinciBall is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This app is a cartoon styled game of King of the Hill with three different modes for you to play through.
In this game, you play as the yellow ball. Your goal in one way or another is to move around the map and make contact with the scoring zones. Depending on which mode you?re playing, you?ll be trying to hit the scoring zones in different ways. When you start playing this game, you may default to assuming that your ball is controlled through the use of the accelerometer. Unfortunately, that?s not the case. You?ll be controlling everything through touch. To move around, drag your finger in the direction you want to go.
To stop, hold two fingers down on the screen anywhere. Granted, you?re less likely to look like a goon trying to manuver around.
The three modes of this game keep things lively. The classic mode will have you trying to knock your opponents out of the arena to steal points from them while also trying to gather more points by staying on the scoring zones. Survival mode only gives you so many lives, so you?ll have to knock your opponents off the arena more times than they knock you off. And Territory mode allows you to claim scoring zones by rolling over them and earning points for keeping them.
This game is creative and the background of the arena does look pretty cool. Your character and the opponents are all 2D sprites which looks a bit awkward compared to the background. Considering you?re actually a ball, the controls fit pretty well, but they?re hard to get used to. Overall, it?s a fun game, but unless they?ve got multiplayer planned in a future version, there?s little chance that this game will hold your attention long term.
