iRecorder turns your iPhone into a very simple and basic voice recorder. There aren't any bells and whistles on this app, it just allows you to do one of the functions that many people had hoped the iPhone would offer when it initially launched.
Loading up the app presents you with a list of all your recordings, an edit button, a play button, and a record button. Pressing record instantly starts recording while showing an elapsed timer of how long you've been recording. When you press stop it ends the recording and places it into the list.
The default name for the recording is the starting date and time, but by pressing the arrow next to it you can easily edit it.
There doesn't seem to be a time limit besides of course going past what your iPhone can handle storage wise or perhaps even maxing out the elapsed timer. When you play it back that audio quality is crisp and clear for talking directly in to and surprisingly good for talking at a further distance away. You'll want to make sure that you have the mic pointed in the right direction or you'll miss out on picking up the audio.
iRecorder is a nice and simple app that allows you to use your iPhone as a voice recorder. If only you could actually send those voice clips to your computer or email them to yourself this app would be a must have. But considering that you have to keep everything on your iPhone, it may not be useful for everyone.
