SUMMARY: Tony Stark aka Iron Man makes his way over to the iPhone and iPod Touch

Iron Man: Aerial Assault is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that doesn?t live up to the quality of the movie. This game is advertised as an airborne shooter, but unfortunately, it?s more like a target practice game that Iron Man decided to make an appearance in.

The game puts you in control of the weapons system in Iron Man?s suit. You don?t control anything more than dodging out of the way or where Iron Man shoots. What?s worse is that you can only shoot if you manage to lock on to your target. Over the twelve levels that this game offers, you?ll be able to gain access to new and improved Stark Tech weaponry, but that isn?t enough to save this game.

Throughout all of the twelve levels you?ll simply be moving the aiming reticle around the screen in an attempt to lock on to certain targets. Most of your targets will be automatically fired at when you move past them but some will require that you either tap the button on the right or hold it down for a charged shot to knock them out. During this whole thing, Iron Man continues to fly straight while you basically control his head. If a missile slips by you, all you need to do is press the dodge button on the left and you should be able to make it out of the way.

This game is not an airborne shooter. If anything, this game has more in common with Tap Tap Revenge then it does with an airborne shooter. You don?t move Iron Man around the screen at all and your firing and evasion are not even remotely free form, giving this game a very linear feel. It?s got great graphics and it is made after an amazing movie, but the Iron Man game for the iPhone and iPod Touch falls way too short to recommend.
