Yet another interesting entertainment app has been release a while back that challenges the idea that the iPhone app must have practical use to justify it's existence. Featured on CNN, Digg, Gizmodo, Mashable and many other blogs around the world, iSteam is fogging up your phone without all the harmful wetness.

The basic idea of the app is to create digital steam on your phone that can be manipulated with touch, motion, and even blowing in the microphone. Photos can be chosen to fog up, or selecting a screenshot of the iphone, it can actually be used to make it look like your phone has some condensation issues. Blowing on the mic will add steam and shaking the device will clear the screen. Users can use their fingers to draw streaks in the steam sliding up and down to make it squeak.

The effect is pretty realistic and would easily fool someone who was not looking too hard at it. Tilting the phone or simply holding it still will cause droplets to form and fall down the screen forming streaks. All of this adds to the effect and really makes for a neat application to show friends what your phone can do if they have not yet seen it. iPod Touch users can now add steam too with the 1.1 update to the application.

If you are looking for an entertaining application that will allow you to show off your iPhone in an interesting way, check out iSteam if you haven't already. It offers a look at all of the different technologies in the device and really does look great. For the cheap price its being offered for, there isn't many reasons why you wouldn't take a look.
