iTankster is a small tank game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app is a top down arcade game that reminded me a lot of the Wii Play tanks game for the Wii. The object of the game is to protect your castle from the never ending bombardment of tanks while trying to destroy the skull and proceed to the next level. Along the way there will be different powerups and obstacles to help or hinder your progress.

The game had its challenges while I played it but it eventually grew old as I played. The controls were a bit underdone as I found myself constantly frustrated, bumping into different objects and having to move my thumb backwards and forwards to try and free myself from walls. The game played a bit too chaotically with almost every element of the game seeming completely random and thus taking the fun of strategy out of it.

If you are looking for a game that will kill some time, this app might do that. But there are plenty of great games out there that will do the same thing and play twice as well. There is a free version in the appstore so check it out first before dropping the cash for the full version.
