Jewel Quest 2 comes across a lot like Bejeweled and all of the other puzzle apps that have you switch two pieces in an attempt eliminate a row. The difference with Jewel Quest 2 is that there's actually a story behind it and another whole layer of gameplay that makes you think just a little bit harder than you normally would when it comes to eliminating blocks.
The entire layout of the game really feels like Bejeweled. You've got different jewels that you'll need to align and eliminate by putting three or more together. You can only move a jewel in one of four directions and it must make a line of three or more for it to be valid. Once it pops, things start to get drastically different. The whole goal of Jewel Quest 2 is to fill all of the tiles behind the jewels gold.
Each level removes a few squares from the corners of the map making it harder to get all of them and make it gold. That's why they added the eliminate of gold coins. Gold coins are special powerups that you can get by eliminating a line of three or more. Once you have one, you can select a square and then press the gold coin to turn that spot gold. This is very useful as you get to harder levels.
If you haven't already passed this game off as another Bejeweled, definitely try it out. It's a fun and addictive game that is easy to pick up and play. This is one of those puzzle games that you can keep on your iPhone at all times because you'll always want to go back and play it.
