JobCompss is an app for the iPhone that allows you to see what jobs are available in your area. This app takes your query and searches through over 2 million job listings and displays that information on a map relevant to where you?re located.
When you load up this app, it will ask to locate you. Once it does, you?ll be presented with the JobCompass marker right over your location on the Google Maps interface. At the top of the screen there?s a search bar for you to enter in any keyword relevant to the type of job you?re looking for. Before you click search, select how far of a radius from your current location that you would like to the app to search.
Once you press search, the app very quickly locates all of the jobs that fit that keyword in your search radius and places a marker for them on the map. It will also pull up a list mode to show you the total number of results available as well. However you want to view it is up to you, but the list mode will make it easier to see exactly what you?re looking into. If you prefer the map mode, you can also zoom in and out very easily by using two fingers or the plus and minus buttons on the list.
When you find a job you want to check out, tap on either the icon or the name in the list. This will bring you to a quick overview page. From here you can either get more details about the job or you can email the job listing to yourself or someone else. While you can see the full description of the job within the app, you can also launch it in Safari as well to directly apply. This app is great for finding jobs around your location, but applying for a job on your iPhone isn?t exactly easy or possible on every site.
