Jott is a great little app for the iPhone that allows you to take your notes to a whole new level. This app simplifies the existing Jott service that has been available to anyone with a phone number. All you need to do is launch the app and start a new recording. From there, Jott will help you do the rest.
The idea behind Jott is that you can't always type or jot down your notes. So why not just speak them and let a service convert them for you? Jott's existing phone service has you call them and either record a voice note for yourself that will be viewable on their website in written and audio form, or have that note sent in both forms to another location. You can Jott to your blog, Twitter, Google Calendar, and a bunch more.
The app does a great job in translating the idea behind Jott over to the iPhone. Most of the issues arise from Jott itself, like the 15 second maximum record time. But besides that, it's a pretty solid application. The biggest issue seemed to arise from recording through the Jott app in comparison to recording from calling the phone number. The message doesn't always translate clearly. Plus, the time limit on the phone method is longer than 15 seconds.
If you're a fan of note taking apps or voice to text apps, you should definitely give Jott a try. But if you're just looking for a solid note taking app, you should skip Jott and stick with using just Evernote.
