Killer Pool is a billiards game for the iphone and ipod touch. If
features some of the more fluid gameplay that we've seen from pool
games. Although the graphics are not as good as some pool games out
there, Killer pool definitely nails the controls for me personally. It
features the 5 different gametypes including the standard 8-ball and
9-ball gametypes most players are familiar with. The game works great
and I did not find any graphic lags that can come with 3d games on the
devices. Instead of the player touching the stick to hit the ball,
there is a meter on the right side that acts as replacement for the
stick, allowing the player to view the ball at all times. This will be
especially handy when someone with larger fingers looks to play. The
sounds and animations in this game are decent, with the animations
running extremely smooth. After looking at plenty of other pool
applications, I will say this is my personal favorite. It really feels
better to use than most of the apps I've used before and does an
excellent job keeping me interested in the game. At the time of this
review, Killer Pool was priced at 2.99, cheaper than most similar pool
apps available. There is a free version which allows the user to play a
round of 9-ball against a relatively easy A.I. but it is not enough to
keep someone interested. If you have a need for a pool app on your
phone, and would like to have a simple interface along with the ability
to play against a friend locally this is a great one to choose. Some of
you will find it to be a tossup between Virtual Pool and Killer Pool. I
choose Killer Pool and it has made me happy so far. Check it out.
