LaDiDa is a music recording app that is taking the basic record-yourself-and-put-it-to-a-beat formula and kicking it up a notch. Instead of forcing the user to sing a song in a specific key, the app will automatically choose the key and change the chords for you so that all you have to do is sing. After singing acappella to a metronome that can be changed to whatever tempo you like, the song will process your voice and put a suitable chord progression to it.
The user can choose the style of their music from a large list to better accompany their voice.
I must say after trying the app out over and over again, it did a very decent job of matching an accompaniment track to my songs. It rarely threw in an awkward chord although I did find that it struggled with minor scales and I had a hard time getting it to do those.
Overall, the app worked great and I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants to hear their voice put to music. The app has the ability to listen to other songs that have been made. Check out the video for a few examples.
