Lexulous is a great game that has gone through a required name change to avoid copyrights. The game is basically Scrabble and has been a popular game on Facebook for a long time. The app is a synced app that can be played both on Facebook and now on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Having this ability requires that the app uses Facebook Connect and as such, a Facebook account is required to play the game on an Apple device.

Once connecting with your Facebook account, the game brings you right to the main menu. From there a player can start a game or join one that has already been created. What's interesting about this app is that it is not a real time game. Instead, the game has players take turns, with turns being spread out over long periods of time depending on how often users check. Players can have as many games as they would like going at the same time. They just check back and see if it's their turn and then play, which notifies the other user that it is their turn via Facebook.

The only issue comes is when you want a notification on your iPhone. It will not notify you and you will have to check either Facebook or the app to see if it's your turn. That's not too big of a problem if you are a Facebook-aholic like me but if you don't spend a lot of time on the site, it may be a pain to constantly check.

The game plays smooth and overall felt like the classic Scrabble experience. Users can chat with each other in the game which can add to the sense that you are playing with someone even if they are days apart. Overall, it is a great experience and the fact that you can play your game with or without you iPhone just makes it that much more fun. Check it out.
