Little Runner is a small little game with great hand-drawn art style with a knack for making your heart rate peak. The game is created by Red Rocket Games and it is a fun example of what simple and cheap gaming can be on the iPhone. It plays out like a small flash game with simple rules and an even simpler storyline. The whole object of the game is to neutralize different threats that stand in the way of your fragile little buddy. He continues to walk and eventually pick up speed as you maneuver the pillars of land that he is walking on. Other dangers like fires and rocks must be taken care of before he reaches them as well.

If something is missed, the game will end and you'll find yourself watching the little guy crying his head off. That in itself was inspiration to keep going with this game but also the fact that it is really addicting. Trying to keep this guy alive for as long as possible provide a really basic rush that made me frustrated when I couldn't keep up. I wanted to finish this stupid thing and sometimes he would trip on the smallest little bump in the road.

One complaint that I did have was that players can't use two fingers when controlling the elements of the game. Things can only be changed one at a time which proved to frustrate me when I wanted to multitask. Also, the game did tend to struggle occasionally with framerate issues which are very crucial in a game like this.

Overall, Little Runner offers simple and elegant gameplay with a great art style. Not to mention that it is also very cheap which is a definite bonus. If you're looking for a small casual game with a simple goal and challenging gameplay, check out Little Runner.
