Live Poker is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to play realtime Texas Hold'em poker over Wifi or 3G with other people. What's really interesting is that this app has become very popular on MySpace and Facebook, thus allowing you to play head to head with those individuals as well.
When you load up the app you'll either have to create a new account or pull in your account from Facebook. Once you've gotten your account set up, it's time to hit the tables. You can join a random table or you can search for your friends and join a table with them. Once you're at a table, you'll be able to start a chat if you'd like as well.
There are two versions of this app: Live Poker and Live Poker 40k.
Both versions give you the exact same gameplay, so you won't be missing out on anything. In each game, you'll also gain 1,000 chips per day you're registered. So the only real difference is that for $9.99 you get to start out with 40k free chips. Considering $9.99 is a huge price for fake chips, stick with the free version of the app.
For an app that is huge on two social networks, it's odd to only be able to log in to your Facebook account to play poker. Hopefully they'll be adding the MySpace option in the near future, but considering you can create your own account from the device itself, there's not much concern with leaving anyone out.
