LocalEats is the iPhone app for the website WhereTheLocalsEat.com. Their entire goal is to break people away from the typical boring places and chain restaurants. The app is very easy to use and gives you a more local view at exactly what's around the area and how much it's going to cost you.

There are two ways to use this app. First off, you can have it locate you by the specific area you're in or going to. So either use the A-GPS on your iPhone or enter in the address. The other option is to browse through what's available in each states major city. This lists out the top 100 places to eat, so you know you'll be picking from the best.

There are three ways to short the information that it pulls out for you, alphabetical, by category, or by their best of section. When you tap on any of the restaurants you'll get a lot more information, including a button that will bring you right to Maps with the address plugged in and even a button to directly call the place. It even lets you know what the price range is for that specific place too.

LocalEats isn't going to tell you every place that's around you, so you can't really use it on a daily basis. Sometimes there won't be anything even close by you just based on where these ratings have come in from. So while LocalEats definitely provides you with the best of the best, you may want another app to show you where more food options are in the area.
