SUMMARY: Hello. I am your fiddle. I am programmed to make you a musical prodigy. Your untrained fingers will play beautiful music in a matter of minutes. Seriously, in the amount of time it took you to read this you could have learned ‘Ave Maria’. I kid you not (fiddles never joke).

Check out appoLearning.com, because your kids deserve the very best educational apps!

Smule was one of the first companies to pioneer the iPhone as a musical device. If not the first, it definitely was the most popular. Ocarina sold plenty of copies and had people blowing tunes from their magical device. Since then, the developers have released a few different apps to an eager audience. Some were interesting and other just annoying.

Magic Fiddle is the latest from the group attempting to bring the fun of playing a stringed instrument to your iPad. The app has you hold your device as you would a violin or fiddle and begin sliding your fingers and tapping. There’s not really much to it. Tapping on the different strings will yield different results. The app comes with a large collection of popular songs to play through but I quickly grew bored of it. As an instrumental app, this one adds to the awesome collection and it would be interesting to see a quartet of the devices playing together.

If you liked Ocarina, you’ll probably find this app intriguing, but it definitely doesn’t have the same magic. Just like every other Smule app though, you can listen to the world attempt to play songs worth listening to.
