Midnight Pool is an arcade style pool game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game offers a lot of fun features and some of the best graphics we've seen so far on the iPhone. Also the selection of real music and the character customization make this game more than just another pool game that you'll lose interest in within after a few plays.
There are three gameplay options in Midnight Pool: Arcade, Story, and 2 Player. All three modes offer the three main rule sets for you to choose from: 8-ball US, 8-ball UK, and 9-ball. In arcade mode, they also offer Challenge mode to teach you some different trick shots. After you pick your rules you'll be able to select your character. There are several different characters, each one with different outfits and a different attitude.

This doesn't help your gameplay, but is a neat feature in Story mode that determines what type of trash you talk.
The actual game is very easy to manuver. You can hold the phone in either landscape or portrait mode, depending on your preference. When it's your turn to play, you'll be able to move the camera or the cue to your liking. You can also set the angle of where you want to hit the ball and how high up your cue is. When you're ready to shoot, pull back and then push forward to hit the ball.
Your character will trash talk with your opponent in between each turn to keep things entertaining. The music in the game also manages to do a good job of not being obnoxious and actually adding to the game. Overall, if you're a fan of pool games, this is the best app for you to pick.
