miFace is an app that lets you create your own avatar for yourself or your contacts. This app works on both the iPhone and iPod Touch, giving you the ability to make cheesy cartoon avatars that look nothing like you or your friends.
You?re given a paper doll from the shoulders up to do with what you like. The default shirt color is red and you can?t change that unfortunately, but you can change just about everything else. Except of course, the ears, which you?re only given one option. Some of the features like beards and mustaches will only give three options while eyes and mouth offer 20.
Once you?ve made your avatar, you can either save it to the app for future manipulation or you can actually assign these images to different contacts on your device. This might be appealing to you if you don?t have pictures of all your contacts and would prefer them to not be empty.
This app allows you to make an avatar that only integrates with your contacts list. If there was more that the avatar could do, this app would have a higher appeal. Unfortunately, there isn?t and the app itself is a bit weak overall. At the end of your creation process your avatar might not look that much different than all the other ones you?ve created. Pass on this app, you won?t be missing out.
