The classic game of Monopoly has made its way over to the iPhone and iPod Touch. This version of the game is the World Editions, so expect things to be a little bit more advanced then your classic game of Monopoly. But don?t worry, you?ll still get frustrated with the game as much as you do with the real one.
The game takes full advantage of the iPhone and iPod Touch handling all the controls directly through touching what you want to do and where. Plus you can even physically shake your device if you want to get the real feeling when it?s your turn to roll. The game also lets you listen to your own music while you?re playing, which could be good or bad depending on how you let music influence you. Listening to death metal during a game of Monopoly could probably result in you breaking your device.
The most interesting thing that Monopoly offers on the iPhone and iPod Touch is the multiplayer aspect. Let?s think about this for a second.
You can play this game over multiple devices connected through WiFi. If each person buys the game then you?ve about the same as buying the actual board game. Buying the actual game is much safer and a lot more social than sitting there staring at a small screen with your friends all around you. While the idea of having a built in chat is great, remember, you?re probably in the same house if not the same room.
The game handles very well and we didn?t run into any issues playing it. The fun facts you get to learn whenever you grab a Chance or Community Chest are actually pretty cool and add to the game play. Playing against computers isn?t nearly as satisfying as they aren?t as competitive as most people would be, but they will give you quite a run for your money. If you?re looking to play the game single player, you?ll definitely enjoy this game as you can really pick up and play whenever you like.
