MotoChaser is a game that really gives you a Sega Dreamcast feel when you play it. The character models look like something directly out of Crazy Taxi and the gameplay feels like they were heavily inspired by Road Rash. You're basically racing against the clock and occasionally your opponents to open up the next level to do the same thing in.
Your customization seems to end with picking from one of three different characters. After that you simply pick a level and start racing. The game is played horizontally with the gas button on the left hand side. Use your thumb on the gas and steer with the accelerometer as you attempt to make your way to each check point for more time.
Occasionally you'll run into other bikers.

When this happens, there will be an attack icon on the right hand side. It's not the easiest thing in the world to do, but when you land an attack it feels a lot like Road Rash. Theres also the entire jumping system which seems to launch you into the air and change your camera view so you can truly enjoy how beautiful the environment looks.
The game has a lot going for it, but it would really be amazing if it had a little bit more customization. Even the ability to switch out weapons or tweak your bike would be a welcome addition. It's visually stunning and has that unmistakable appeal to it. Hopefully we'll seem some new additions to this game, but either way it's a lot of fun and worth the price.

Some 1$ apps have quality gameplay, but they always have VERY few levels/ tracks/ modes/ options. MotoChaser is NO exception. You can pretty much beat the game's 8 tracks (NO RACES, ONLY TIME ATTACK CHALLENGES WITH CHECKPOINTS D:) in 15-20 minutes. And then? Well, you did not unlock anything at all. No new riders, bikes, parts, abilities, trophies, modes, difficulty settings or secret tracks... NOTHING to pull you back. It just releases its grip on you. It opens the door for you, letting you choose wether you exit and forget about the game or stay in and keep playing. What do you do?
You keep playing.

MotoChaser ITSELF, AT ITS CORE, is a great game. At first the controls may bother you because of the camera. It just stays behind your rider, tilting and rolling left and right as you turn. It makes controls feel very sensitive, but after a while, you get comfortable and learn how to deal with it. At this point they rarely get between you and the game.
The gameplay is excellent. You're always going at blazing speeds, racing through the long tracks always with great pacing. There are some speed boosts and these powerful speed boosts are the most thrilling speed boosts I've ever come through in a video game. Your bike suddenly accelerates at unreal speeds, over three times as fast as your original speed. It's insane. And most of the time, they're taken into jumps, and those are adrenaline-filled. It's just great how surprising they can be! You just suddenly burst out in the air into giant landscapes and when you then land perfectly, without thouching the sides of the tracks and keeping all the strong momentum you just gained to get through the half a mile long piece of straight track in 3 seconds, you're left with a wide smile smacked in your face for next minute.
These moments alone are totally worth the dollar that the game costs. It's a rush.

But let's face it: all this amazing racing would not be all that great without an equally good audiovisual presentation! MotoChaser furfills its responsability of being a stunner.
The visuals are great. You will find VERY low-res textures and some pop-up here and there, but there are some great little details here and there, like the caracter models with refreshing expressions, the shadows seen on them and their bikes when entering tunnels and some appealing and well detailed pieces of scenery. But even more important: the artistic desing. MotoChaser is full of bright, amazing splashes of color and varied landscapes, has a creative color palette and cool cartoonish cutscenes. The awesome graphics, but also the superb original soundtrack that is for sure among the most catchy and creative I've ever heard add to the experience significantly.

The high speed action, awesome speed boosts and jumps and unforgettable charm of the visuals and music make MotoChaser worth every penny. It's one of the App Store's platinum racers and it should not be missed by any high speed arcade style racing fan.
