MovieMate is a movie preview and information app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that provides you with the information you need to know about a specific movie. This is not the type of app that allows you to buy tickets. Instead, this is more a trailer and multimedia movie app that allows you to keep up to date with the latest in the world of movies.

There are five tabs to this app: Favorite, Just Added, Exclusive, Most Popular, and Genres. Just Added, Exclusive, and Most Popular all function the same way, they're just different ways to show you the movies that are in that specific spotlight. Favorites is where the movies you star will be saved for easier access next time you want to view them. Genre let's you browse through for just specific genre of movies so you're not wasting your time.

When you select a movie, you're brought to a profile page for that movie. This page includes several options and some information. There are four buttons on this page: Email, Twitteriffic, Search, and Trailer. Email will let you send out the info to your friends. Twitteriffic only uses that specific app to send out a twitter message with a link to the trailer. Search brings you back to the main page. And trailer allows you to play the trailer for that specific movie.

The profile page also lists out the Genre, Director, Rating, Actors, and Studio. With all of this information, MovieMate is a very handy app. The cool thing is you can actually download the trailers for future viewing, especially if you find yourself in an area with bad signal. This allows you to hopefully entertain yourself on a train or short ride if your iPhone is lacking in the video department. If you're a movie buff, definitely check out this app.
