My Celebtwin is an application that attempts to match your facial features to real celebrities, offering up three famous people that may look just like you. As a simple joke application, this is mildly entertaining for the first few attempts. But, as you’ll come to find out, it’s really not worth your time or money.
The first step is to either take a picture of someone with your iPhone or choose a picture from your photo library that you’ve already taken. The picture should be clear and the face should take up a majority of the screen. Supposedly, this will yield the best results. After you’ve chosen the photo, you need to select the gender and then you’ll wait a few moments for the app to come back with three celebrities that match the face you submitted. The results are disappointing to say the least. First of all, the celebrities don’t look anything like the photo you submitted. Secondly, the celebrities don’t even look like each other. You then have the option to save the results, or submit another photo. Your history is automatically saved so you can review all the celebrity matches you’ve received.
Not only is this application just plain silly, but it also lacks in some simple features. Once you’ve received your celebrity matches, the only option you have is to save it to your photo library. You can’t email it or share through Twitter or Facebook. The lack of social networking makes this app even more useless.
The only positive thing about this application is that there’s a free one to try out so you don’t have to waste your money. That’s the key; don’t waste your money.
