Mystique 2 is a simple puzzle game disguised as a horror game. The whole point of the game is to solve every puzzle in the game to escape from your weird situation. As the sequel to the somewhat entertaining first game, this one is trying to deliver more thrills and stump you once again. It is a room escape game with a confused story thrown into the mix.
You start out without memory of who or where you are. A little girl mysteriously appears and tells you to follow her but then disappears. Right off the bat, I was confused because my whole screen was black.
It took me a while to realize that you must play this game on full brightness if you want to see anything at all. You are thrown into the game with no idea what to do or how to do it which can be very frustrating. You will find tools and different switches that must be used to eventually move on to the next area. Controls are very simple and sometimes a bit sluggish making you feel like you are floating on air slowly.
I must say, I grew bored of the game really early on, but others may not feel the same way. Perhaps the best way to know if you like this type of game is to grab the first in the series since it is free, and then make the decision whether or not to buy the second. It is a fun puzzler but lost my attention with the same music playing over and over again. Check it out though and see for yourself.
