Nano Rally is a racing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Well, kinda. If any of you have played the game micro machines, this game takes after that. The game takes the classic time attack races and sticks them on a tabletop with mini racecars. Instead of racing other players or cars, this app will have you trying to beat lap times in an effort to be the best.
The controls are very simple in this game. There is the gas, brake, and two directional arrows for turning. Before each level, players can change the balance of their acceleration, top speed, braking, and handling to optimize their car for the specific track. This makes trial and error an essential part of the game. And if there wasn\'t enough challenge to the game already, the only way to unlock new levels in the game is by getting in the top ten speeds of the previous track. It was somewhat of a bittersweet feature when I discovered it because I still haven\'t been able to get past the first level. But I like it, it\'s a challenge. Others may find it a bit annoying because they paid money and now they only have about a fourth of the content that is available. I\'ll admit it is hard because you can only go so fast and then it\'s done.
But the game is a lot of fun and the art direction is simple and clean. If you have an itching to etch your name among the best, literally, in the world. This game will offer you the chance. It literally requires micro-management to another level in order to get a quality time. For most of you out there though, it will just be an impossible game that has a poor unlocking system.
