The Need for Speed series has been around in the gaming world for a while and has some of the most popular racing games for every platforming. The iPad is no different. Need for Speed Shift was featured in Apple's revealing of the iPad and was one of the first games to be offered for the device. The game is not like Real Racing as it doesn't not attempt to provide a more realistic racing experience and instead tries to provide the player with a fun arcade racing game.
The app really delivers the excitement it promises with tons of unlockable cars, lots of nitrous, and drifting. The game starts every player out in a tutorial mode and then throws them right into a race. As you progress through the game, different circuits will be unlocked and eventually you will be able to race through the levels with a Lamborghini, Dodge Viper, or some concept cars. The games controls felt perfect for the device and I never really had a complaint.
Overall, this is a good racing game for those who care less about realism and just want to have fun racing cars and getting new ones. It's available in the app store for a pretty high price, so definitely think it through before dropping the cash. Check it out.
