NeoSameGame is a puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game is very similar to the game Jawbreaker that we've already reviewed, but it does add it's own twist to it. NeoSameGame has two separate play modes to keep you entertained: SameGame and NeoSameGame. Both games are fundamentally the same, the only difference is that NeoSameGame offers a few features specific to the iPhone.
Both game modes offer four levels of difficulty and basically the same play style. The object of the game is to completely clear the screen of all the colored blocks. You can remove any combination of two or more same color blocks just by tapping on them.
The more blocks there are in a group, the more points you receive. The round is over when you either clear the screen or you run out of possible moves.
NeoSameGame works on those same principles but adds a few extras to the mix. When removing the blocks, you get combo points for removing the same colored sets in a row. You also can take advantage of the rainbow blocks to remove a good chunk of the blocks around it if you get stuck. If you don't want to end a round without a clear, you can shake the iPhone to get extra blocks to use. And you can even tilt the iPhone to move the blocks around and change which way you view the game.
We've played this game before in many different variations and each one manages to add something that will keep you around for a little while longer. NeoSameGame is a paid app, so you'll have to have been a fan of the original version of this game or really like this style of game to consider plopping down the money for it.
