NotifyMe is an application that uses Apple new push notification service to easily set up reminders on your phone. The app gives users the ability to input some text, tag a label onto it, and the set a time. Once this is set up, the app will then push a notification to the user at the set time with an alarm so that they will be reminded of the event. The app works exactly how it claims to work and really is an awesome idea.
But wait... there is something that already does this on the iPhone. The calendar app will notify users of upcoming events if they set an alarm on it.
So really, what's the need for NotifyMe? I can't think of anything. NotfiyMe requires an internet connection to work, without a signal, the app will not send a reminder. The calendar app doesn't require the internet and will alert the user whenever and wherever. NotifyMe doesn't tie in with any email addresses or calendars, so you have to put everything in that app and use it separately. The default calendar app ties in with other calendars, emails, and most anything else you would need it to.
So really, the app is doing a great thing, but it's not doing anything new. It's just trying to sell that it has push notification except the calendar does the same thing and better. So for me personally, it's a pass on this app. There is a free version in the app store with some limitations, so grab that before dropping the money for the full version.
