SUMMARY: Yahoo!'s all in one iPhone app offering social networking aggregation and Yahoo Messenger support

oneConnect is Yahoo!'s attempt at an all in one app for the iPhone. They want you to just use their service in a similar fashion to Shozu but with the usual Yahoo! glaze over it. The app is appealing, but it doesn't add anything that hasn't been done before to the iPhone's line-up.

There are a lot of different tabs for you to dig through, including: Favorites, Contacts, Messages, Pulse, and Settings. Contacts and Messages could have easily been consolidated to show alerts and new messages, but they chose to separate it. Favorites allows you to set people you contact the most in their own area, which again could have found its way into contacts.

Pulse is a complete rip off of Shozu. It allows you to add your Facebook, Twitter, Bebo, Dopplr, Flickr, Last.fm, MySpace, and YouTube accounts to the app. Then it pulls all of the information down for you to view in one location. This can be very useful or very confusing depending on how active you are on each site.

oneConnect is unfortunately just a re-branded repeat of something we've already seen. There isn't anything really that special about it unless you use Yahoo Messenger a lot. If you do, expect a lot of spam messages. The Pulse area is neat, but it's been done with even more options. Definitely pass on oneConnect.
