OrbLive is a media streaming app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This app has had a lot of success on the jailbroken side and has now officially made its way over to the world of Apple approved apps. This app does require that you install software on your PC for it to work and as of yet, it does not support Mac integration.
The app has four tabs: Audio, Video, Photo, and Settings. The first three are pretty self explainitory and help you browse through your media as sorted by OrbLive. If you have a TV tuner card installed and properly connected to your PC, you can actually stream live television directly to your device.
The app works best over WiFi as can be assumed because of the amount of data you'll be pulling.
Also, your home network will be a factor in determining exactly how fast you'll be able to connect and how constant your connection will be. Even on 3G this is still a nice little app to play around with.
This is definitely a cool app that offers a little bit more functionality then something like Simplify Media does. Unfortunately the free version just randomly spits out three things for you to enjoy from each tab whenever you load it up. To really enjoy this app, you'll need to pay the full price for it, which may turn a lot of people off. However, if you have a TV tuner and a lot of media on your PC, you'll love this app.
