Oregon Trail is a game that all of us should be familiar with by now. Seriously, if you've never played the age old game, you have been missing out. Random diseases, fording the waters and hunting kept us throwing our friends names onto the list and sending them westward. This is the game that refuses to die thanks to its strangely appealing gameplay. Well now there's a new version out there for the iPhone and iPod Touch and it gives us the very same game with an all new look. Oregon Trail for the iPhone will have you creating your wagon party and pushing west, with all new minigames like berry-picking and gold panning while keeping the traditional hunting and fording in the mix.

The game ran smoothly when I played it and it kept me going for quite a while and kept me entertained as I pummeled my family at breakneck speeds towards our goal. The graphics in this game have a great feel to them and there are some nice little details thrown in to keep the game interesting. The sounds in this game are top notch as well though the banjo that play repeatedly can get a bit old.

Overall, this game is exactly how we remember it but in a new, shiny package. For those of you who loved the original, picking this up for your iPhone or iPod Touch will be a trip to the past. For those of you who have never played Oregon Trail before... what are you waiting for?
