Osmos is an interesting game. Unlike many iPhone games that are increasingly gaining more of a plot and offer an insane amount of depth for a mobile game, Osmos is sticking to simple gameplay with some awesome art. You play a simple lifeform with a single goal: Grow bigger. To do this, you need to jet yourself around the world absorbing lifeforms smaller than yourself.
Each time you tap the screen, you will eject a piece of yourself to propel you forward. This in itself presents a dilemma. The more you propel yourself, the smaller you will get and will be unable to absorb other lifeforms. The game has a variety of levels ranging from the basic absorbing to hunting down other lifeforms that move and defend themselves. There are even times where you will need to grow while orbiting another lifeform.
The graphics look amazing in the game and the ability to speed up and slow down time made the experience enjoyable. Overall, Osmos is the type of app that is perfect for the iPhone and I wish there were a ton more games with similar creativity. If you like casual games with a hint of puzzle, this app will be perfect for you. Check it out.
