OurStage Radio is another internet music app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The focus of this app is more on the up and coming artists more than those already established. Essentially, this is the Indie version of Pandora or Last.fm with a few little differences.
OurStage Radio connects directly to the OurStage website to pull all of the music uploaded by new artists. This is pretty interesting if you're looking for something new and want to have full control of what you listen to. Unlike Pandora or Last.fm, you can actually select exactly what song you want to listen to and continue to scroll through the music at your own pace.
There are four different areas to this app: Recommended, Favorites, Playlists, and Discover. Recommended allows you to pick which genre you like the best and play through songs from there with the goal of rating the music to give others a better impression of it. Favorites and Playlists are where you store the songs you like either individually or in playlists. Discover is where you pick a genre and search through all of the different bands and their music to manually find what you like.
If you're into indie music and want to find out about stuff well before it makes its way over to the mainstream, this app will definitely hold your interest. The music streaming quality is pretty good, especially on WiFi, so you won't run into any issues there. If you're more into music you've heard before or comparing the music you like to other bands, then this isn't the app for you.
