The classic game Pacman has made its way over to the iPhone and iPod Touch in two forms: lite and full. Pacman has made its way from platform to platform with little to no changes and people still love it. For those select few who are not familiar with the game, the object is to eat all of the dots on the board while avoiding the ghosts to beat the level. The larger balls will allow you to eat the ghosts, which earn you extra points.
The only major difference that the iPhone version of this game has is the control screen. There are three different options: D-Pad, Swipe, and Accelerometer. The D-Pad and Swipe are essentially the same.
For the D-Pad you just tap the direction you want to go. With Swipe, you swipe your finger across the joystick to change your direction.
The accelerometer controls are fairly gimmicky. While it's neat to control Pacman by spinning your phone around, you'll probably only play it this way once or twice. After that you'll default to most likely the D-Pad as it's much easier to play.
Pacman is a classic, so there's no reason not to download the light version. At $7.99 however, you've got one big reason not to download the full version. Few iPhone games cost that price and the ones that justify it do so by offering something completely new to the device.
