PanoLab is a photography related app for the iPhone that allows you to take pictures that are already on your phone or take new pictures and place them side by side to make a panoramic view. You can manipulate your pictures in many different ways to get them to line up exactly how you like before you solidify everything into one final picture.
The app runs an OpenGL 3D engine that allows you to see your entire working environment very easily. You can navigate around your viewing area up to 180 degrees in each direction, so you won?t have to worry about leaving anything out of the shot. When you?re ready to start placing pictures, press the plus sign button and determine whether to take a new picture or insert one from your photo library.
Now, all you need to do is keep adding your pictures to the panorama. You can zoom in and out to make your current picture change in size.
You can also rotate it in any direction you need to for it to fit with the surrounding shots. This makes it very easy to get everything lined up fairly well, considering you?re doing all of this on an iPhone. Once you?re done, you can easily snap a picture of your scene to save in your photo album for later viewing.
PanoLab isn?t an app for everyone. If you?re really into make panoramic shots, you probably do so on your computer with a real camera. The effort put in to making a perfect picture could be better spent when you can use software that will let you blend the rough edges and overlap. This might be a good tool for a Real Estate Agent if they?re in a rush, but then again, would you really want to deal with one that was in a rush?
