Paradise: The Beginning is a vehicular action game for the iPhone and iPod Touch with a background story like no other. In this game, you?re a Zombie battling to save your life against the horde of mutants bent on destroying you. Luckily you?ve got a pretty nifty set of wheels to help you out with that task.
The games controls are pretty easy to handle. On the left hand side of the screen you?ve got the vehicle controls and on the right you have the weapon controls. These circles operates just like an analog control stick and responds very well so you won?t run into any issues navigating around the map or shooting your opponents. As you continue to battle through the game you?ll unlock all sorts of different powerups, including four different weapons. To switch between your powerups you?ll have to press the tiny icon above the respective control stick. These buttons really should be bigger as they?re difficult to press in a hurry if you?ve got larger fingers.
The game is a never ending attack from the mutants that inhabit the city. Your goal is to last as long as you can and destroy each wave as they hunt you out. While small, adventuring through the map will give you advantages such as cover from buildings and the ability to lead your enemies into small passages to easily kill them. The entire map looks stunning and was all hand painted, giving the game a really nice look.
Paradise: The Beginning is a lot of fun for such a low price. The concept of playing as a Zombie who is being hunted down by Mutants is definitely interesting, but unfortunately the story is nonexistent when you load up the game. In fact, if you didn?t read the description of the game, all you would know is that you?re a tank defending yourself from attacks by other vehicles. While a lack of story doesn?t really detract from this game, the concept definitely calls for it to be fleshed out more. Regardless, if you enjoy survival combat games, check out Paradise: The Beginning.
