Payback is a GTA-style free-roam game for the iphone and ipod touch.

This game is really trying hard to emulate the underground feel of the

Grand Theft Auto games. The location is set somewhere in the UK and you

are a new guy in charge of carrying out missions. The controls are

pretty simple, with the camera being above the player and being turned

by tilting the device. The movement of the player is controlled by up

and down buttons while punching and entering cars have their own button

as well. This game will keep you busy with 11 different maps total.

The game does seem to get monotonous as you keep returning to the phones to

grab a new mission which is eerily similar to the one you just

completed. The graphics are pretty good for an iphone game but the lack of

pretty much any animation makes it really hard to get into. The sounds

in this game are only "ok" with some of the accents being hilariously

off. The music in this game has a nice flavor to it but with a limited

soundtrack it may get annoying.

Overall, if you enjoy the concept of completing missions in GTA-like style, you will feel right at home with Payback. But for the steeper price that it's developers are asking for,

some of you may find yourself deleting it within a few hours of
