Perilar is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that offers a completely classic RPG experience. This game seems to be built off of a rules system similar to Dungeons and Dragons as you can see from the character creation aspect of the game. Once you've built up your character it's time to start adventuring as the rest of the world is sure not going to save itself.
The bottom half of the screen will show you all of the statistics and extra info that you need when exploring. If you double tap your character you can pull up a more comprehensive menu system for additional details. To move, tap in the direction you want your character to go. You can even move in a diagonal pattern.
The world seems pretty big in this game and there are plenty of shops and villagers to encounter in-between fighting all the monsters you come across. Considering its classic style, a lot of the levels seem very similar to one another; they just have a slightly different layout and new monsters.
Combat is handled through tapping in the direction of the monster next to you. The battle is displayed through the text box at the bottom of the screen so you can see how well you're doing. Perilar is definitely a hard game, so don't underestimate the enemies. If you're a fan of classic RPG games that are heavy on the text, definitely check out Perilar.
